Come to find a peaceful place

Evangeline struggled to get over to the stream, and it was relief that she collapsed onto her side, panting. She wasn't cut out for this. She hadn't expected this. So much pain... and things were only going to get so much worse. It was going to be a long night. She yelped as another contraction shot through her. They were only getting more painful.
It was only a minute before Joker came running up to her. He had a hare carcass with him, but she couldn't eat. Not now. Maybe later. He whimpered at her as she yelped again, wishing he could ease her pain for her but knowing there was nothing he could do for her. He lay down at her back and rested his head against hers, curling his body around her shivering form to try and keep her warm, all the time keeping a watchful eye for any creatures that would try to take advantage of Evangeline while she was weak. He hated this.

Zarp came bouncing up to his teacher and his pack leader. Evangeline seemed to be in a lot of pain, and she didn't even notice him as he approached them.
"What's going on?" He asked Joker. "Is she all right?"

Joker sat up quickly and growled at the young pup angrily. "Get out of here, kid." He ordered it. "You have no right to be here."

OOC: BTW, Symphony, who is about to be born here, is already an adult before Zarp or Sheba is born... ?

ic: the small pup took fright at Joker's harsh voice and ran.

ooc: lets just pretend he was a random pup.

Joker watched the pup leave, satisfied. He rested his head on Evangeline's neck again as a contraction shot through her again. He licked the back of her head worriedly and whimpered.
